We Cheesy is a subscription box for all the cheese lovers out there! Every month you’ll get a box filled with cheesy items and delicious cheesy foods. You also get items that are meant to be “cheesy,” pun intended.

There are 3 subscription levels for this box – Just the Snacks ($15), Cheese & Fruit ($35), and Cheese & Snacks ($35). This is the Cheese & Fruit box!

Our box contained some large items, so it was packed in a Priority Mail box – a smaller, decorative box was buried within.

DEAL: Get 10% off your first order. Use coupon code YOUNGMANCHEGO. Applies to new subscriptions only. Cannot be combined with other offers.

Try code WC4ME to save $5 on your first month!

An insulated bag with cooler pack kept the actual cheese at a proper temperature and safe from damage. All other items were nestled in paper squiggles.

The box is designed for people who love cheese – but that doesn’t mean cheese is the only thing in the box. It also has some other great snacks (often cheese flavored) and fun stuff.

Everything in my box!

Fruit Box: The inclusion of this item surprised us a bit, as we were expecting cheese and packaged snacks.

What is a cheese tray without some fruit? Box contained three pears wrapped in tissue and a few small clusters of grapes.

Pears and Grapes: The grapes weren’t the loveliest I’ve seen, but the majority of them were in good shape. The pears were very nice, and they were ripe enough to eat upon arrival (most boxes ship fruit on the hard side).

Cracker Jack Caramel Coated Popcorn & Peanuts ($0.47): Though not a big ticket item, it was fun to see this classic snack included in the box. The crunchy caramel corn and peanuts are sweet and tasty. The box says three pack, but only one of the three was packed in the We Cheesy. Of course, there was a prize inside (we got a smartphone-interactive sticker called a “Blipp” that moves when viewed with a “Blipper” app.

Doraemon snack sticks: These puffed corn sticks are crunchy Japanese snacks available in a variety of savory (and sweet) flavors. This one was, of course, cheese flavored! These things are great – they are essentially a giant puffed Cheetos with an intense flavor.

Sartori Black Pepper BellaVitano ($7.75): Loved this cheese! It reminded us a little of a aged gouda, both in texture and taste (thought the former more closely resembled a smooth but firm aged Cheddar than it did the crackliness of an aged gouda).

This cheese is a Sartori original and was intended to taste like an Italian farmstead cheese. A good dose of cracked pepper coats the rind.

The cheese wedge is the perfect size for a cheese plate.

We “peared” it with the fruit from our We Cheesy box, plus some fancy crostini we had laying around.

The cheese has a great, mild nuttiness and sliced easily.

Pirate’s Booty Age White Cheddar ($0.40): These puffs are a must-buy on any Trader Joe’s trip! Made from baked rice and corn, they are coated with natural-colored powdered aged cheddar.

Utz Bake Cheddar Cheese Curls ($0.25): For those who crave some day-glow orange in their snacks, there was also a bag of Utz Cheese Curls. Made with real cheese, these puffed Cheetos competitors are also baked.

Dangerously Delicious Pies Crab + Cheddar Quiche ($7?): Our box contained a special, fresh-baked quiche from Dangerously Delicious Pies in Baltimore, Maryland. The Crab and Cheddar combo was the obvious choice for showcasing a savory Maryland baked good in a We Cheesy box!

The pie came wrapped in plastic.

It started to take the shape of the box a bit, but was otherwise a perfect little pie.

It came in a tin for easy oven reheating.

I took a cue from the Dangerously Delicious site and reheated at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes (their directions were for a 10″ pie, so I truncated the time).

The quiche was fabulous. It wasn’t like most quiche, where you have a baked egg slurry with everything jumbled — this one had big pieces of crab in the middle, with the egg having obviously been poured over the top of the fillings.

This month’s We Cheesy was really on target. The last couple boxes had some items that didn’t really fit in, but this one was on point, with only the CrackerJack being an outlier. The fruit was a pleasant surprise and made sense, given that the centerpiece of the subscription is a block of plate-worthy cheese. The block of cheese is always a high-value component, and the quiche was a very cool and unusual cheese-based item to get. We got a much better sense of value with this selection and think it would make a really pleasant gift!
