I received 6 items in my subscription box.

Our world is full of diverse characters. I like to meet people and get their “story.” It is interesting to hear how their life was or is. Many of the books are of different genres as I don’t book-discriminate. LOL!

My first item is an adjustable bangle inspired by the book The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. It features 3 charms, a star, a sun, and 3 colored beads in a row. The book is a love story that involves 2 characters named Natasha and Daniel. I have not read the book yet but I love the bangle. I have always been intrigued by the Universe, how it works, and if we are fated to intertwine with specific people as if our lives have been written out for us.

Next item is going to be great to use this summer to carry my book and other items to the beach in. It is a large pouch from The Bookish Shop.

On one side we a wide range of cacti and on the other is a Dumbledore quote. “We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.” The quote is about unity. I totally believe in what this quote is stating. What about you?

I got a new pin to add to my work lanyard. It is a Diverse Book pin from The Bookish Shop.  It is in the shape of a book (of course) with the words read diverse. Hey, I already do! So now I am going to show off my love for books at work. I tend to share the books that I find interesting  with my friends to give them a chance to get in on the adventure of reading.

So we all know that Starbucks came out with a new drink called the Unicorn Frappe. Well I don’t drink that mess but I was excited that I would not miss out on the latest unicorn “fads” with my next item. It is Unicorn Poo!!! yes that’s right I said Unicorn Poo. It is from Eye Scream Cupcake Shop on Etsy. What can I say about my little bag of unicorn poo? No, seriously folks it is a bag of sweet smelling epsom salts that you can use in your bath. I do like the multi-color salts used to create the poo. Now my question to you is…If drinking the blood of unicorn gives you a half life, what does a bath in unicorn poo get you?

The optional upgrades were included in this box. There was a shirt from the Bookish Shop ($20). The quote on the shirt “The way their freckles create a map of the stars.” is from the book Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven.  I love the feel of the shirt. They are always so soft. I have not read this book either but I will. If you are into star gazing you will see the print has the constellations  in it. I do like going camping and sitting out under the stars and just thinking about this big universe we live in.

I upgraded my box to include the book! This month’s book is The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli ($10.84 Amazon).

Seventeen-year-old Molly Peskin-Suso knows all about unrequited love. No matter how many times her twin sister, Cassie, tells her to woman up, Molly can’t stomach the idea of rejection. So she’s careful. Fat girls always have to be careful.

Then a cute new girl enters Cassie’s orbit, and for the first time ever, Molly’s cynical twin is a lovesick mess. Meanwhile, Molly’s totally not dying of loneliness—except for the part where she is. Luckily, Cassie’s new girlfriend comes with a cute hipster-boy sidekick. If Molly can win him over, she’ll get her first kiss and she’ll get her twin back.
There’s only one problem: Molly’s coworker, Reid. He’s a chubby Tolkien superfan with a season pass to the Ren Faire, and there’s absolutely no way Molly could fall for him.

It is about a young girl, first love, and family. I have not started this book but it does seem like an interesting read. I will dive head first into this after work tomorrow. Have you read it? If so, what did you think of it?

Tell me what you thought about this month’s Bookish Box!
